In 2013, a nursing home employee was sent home from work near Temple, TX for being too inebriated to work. Too drunk to function at work, the employee climbed behind the wheel of her car, started the engine, and attempted to drive herself home. On her way home, she slammed into the side of Sam Graham’s car, killing him and injuring his wife and two children. Sam was a son, a husband, and a father. He never drank. He did nothing wrong. His life was snuffed out because someone made the terrible mistake of choosing to get behind the wheel of a car and drive drunk.
Now, Sam’s family honors his memory by helping spread awareness of the dangers of drunk driving. KCEN recently featured the Graham family as they joined more than 130 in a march down West Ave. in Temple with one simple message:
“Don’t drink and drive, you’ll kill people.”
Brown Trial Firm, LLP represented the Graham family as they went through this horrible nightmare. We were proud to help them investigate and find out what actually happened on the day this employee was sent home from work because she was drunk. The Grahams are a wonderful family who have suffered an unimaginable loss that was preventable. We join our voices in support of the Grahams’ message: Never drink and drive. With more than 980 people killed in Texas by drunk drivers, it’s never worth the risk to yourself or to others. Be responsible. Always have a designated driver or get an Uber.
